Ocean Wave Resin Serving Tray — Build Plan (#20)
Build the shoreline: deep blue fading to turquoise with white foam lacing blown across the colour joins, sand and shells at the beach end — and every pour laces differently, so no two trays match. This 5-page PDF plan (Build Plan No. 20 in the Fox Feather Farms winter series) builds the tray itself — an 18 x 12 in (46 x 30 cm) pine base and rim, not a bought blank — with a 3/8 in well and metal handles on the short ends, at 12–16 fl oz of tabletop epoxy over 2–3 thin layers.
Inside: a dimensioned layout diagram that explains how to read the pour, a complete cut list, a full materials list with per-line costs in Canadian dollars (about $44 typical for the flagship tray), the tools required, finishes and cure times, and a 6-step build summary. The heat gun is essential kit here — it blows the foam into lacing, where a torch can only pop bubbles. Size variants (a small 15 x 10 in tray, an XL 20 in ottoman tray) and the food-contact honesty are both in the plan: standard tabletop epoxy means decorative serving and dry goods, with a liner for wet or hot foods, unless the exact epoxy you buy is certified food-safe. About 2.5–3 hours of active work split over 2 days, plus a 72-hour cure.
